Casio F-B100W: The Classic Digital Watch That Now Counts Your Steps
Share
Counting your steps in 2026 usually means a smartwatch, a nightly charging cable, and a price tag running into hundreds of pounds. Casio has quietly gone the other way — and the result is one of the more sensible watches we've seen all year.
The new Casio F-B100W takes the brand's classic digital formula and adds just three things people actually use: Bluetooth, automatic time correction, and a built-in step counter. Nothing else. And that restraint is exactly the point.
Old-School Looks, Straight From the F-91W Playbook
Look at the F-B100W and you already know it. Rectangular resin case, small LCD panel, four pushers around the sides. The black version in particular is unmistakably related to the F-91W — the 1989 digital that has sold somewhere north of 100 million units and is still one of the most recognisable watch designs ever made.
If that shape is what you're after, we already stock plenty of it. Browse the Casio F-91W-1DG for the original black-on-black look, the F-91WM-7ADF and F-91WM-3ADF for the softer pastel versions, or the F-91WB-8ADF if you prefer a cleaner grey finish.
What the F-B100W Actually Does
- Step counting – An accelerometer inside tracks your steps and shows progress right on the LCD.
- Daily step goal – Set anywhere between 1,000 and 50,000 steps.
- Activity graph – A small bar graph on the display shows how your movement was spread across the day.
- Step reminder – Sit still too long and the watch nudges you.
- Bluetooth + app – Pairs with Casio's phone app to log activity and change settings.
- Automatic time correction – The phone connection keeps the time accurate, plus world time.
- Find my phone – Ring your phone from your wrist.
- Stopwatch – With lap and split timing, and memory for up to 200 records.
- Countdown timer and five daily alarms – Because it's still a Casio.
And What It Deliberately Leaves Out
There's no GPS. No heart-rate sensor. No bright colour touchscreen. This isn't an attempt to out-feature an Apple Watch, and Casio isn't pretending otherwise.
The honest question is what you actually use on a smartwatch. If the answer is "the time and my step count," the F-B100W covers it for a fraction of the money and none of the charging routine.
Two Years Between Battery Changes
Casio rates the replaceable CR2016 cell at roughly two years. That's nowhere near the almost comical seven-year life of an F-91W — the Bluetooth radio and accelerometer have to be paid for somehow — but it's still two years versus charging a smartwatch every day or two.
Genuinely Small and Light
By fitness-watch standards the F-B100W is tiny: 8.8mm thick and 26g on the wrist. Casio has also added ventilation slots to the underside of the resin strap, which is a small but welcome touch in Pakistani summers. It comes in black and a blue-green colourway, and is listed on Casio's site at around £55 in the UK.
Want Step Tracking on a Casio Right Now?
The F-B100W is brand new and hasn't reached Pakistan yet — but Casio already makes a watch on exactly this idea, and we have it in stock. The Casio WS-B1000-1AVDF pairs with your phone over Bluetooth, tracks your activity, and weighs just 25g with a 9.7mm case. It also adds an EL backlight and a 1/100-second stopwatch. If you like the F-B100W concept, this is the closest thing you can wear this week.
Other Casio Digitals Worth a Look
If you want the retro digital look in metal instead of resin, the A168 series is the one people mean when they say "that silver Casio": try the A168WA-1WDF in classic steel, the A168WEGB-1BDF in black and gold, or the A168XES-1BDF.
These smaller digitals also happen to suit almost any wrist, which is why they turn up so often in our Unisex and Couple Watches collections.
